Marinated Feta Cheese

Yesterday, I made a delicious marinade with some authentic Greek AOP feta, black Belem pepper, bird’s eye chilies, green olives, and a few sprigs of rosemary. I placed everything in a jar and poured in some quality extra virgin olive oil. I love adding a burst of flavor to my salads or just over a few slices of tomatoes or some fennel with a well-seasoned marinade full of taste. It almost feels like being in the Mediterranean!

Greek Feta Cheese, I used an AOP stands for Appellation d’Origine Protégée, or Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). It’s a European label that ensures a product is made in a specific region using traditional methods. (I bought a Greek feta with AOP status is produced in Greece and meets strict quality standards).

Black Belem pepper is black pepper from Brazil, known for its bold, spicy flavor with earthy and fruity notes. It’s great for adding rich flavor to dishes.

Bird’s eye chilies are small, very spicy chilies that add strong heat and flavor to dishes.

Ingredients:

-Greek Feta (AOP or PDO)

-Green olives

-Extra virgin olive oil

-Rosemary sprigs (2)

-Belem whole peppercorn (1 teaspoon)

-Dried birds eye chilies (10 for me)

Method:

-In a sterilized jar, place first in the bottom the bird’s eye chilies, Belem pepper, green olives, rosemary sprigs, and feta cut into pieces.

-Cover everything with good quality olive oil.

It’s really easy to make and tastes even better when homemade with quality ingredients. I hope you’ll give it a try!

PS: The marinated oil can be used also for cooking !

Bonne dégustation !
