A few days ago I received a nice little message from Lori from Creating Beauty in the Kitchen inviting me to participating in the “Writing Process Blog Tour”, and without any hesitation (or really knowing what I got myself into), I said yes of course! I think it is a fantastic idea to make a small (yes, I will be keeping mine short and sweet) speech about yourself but more importantly, to also give the opportunity to present 3 other bloggers and cover the blogosphere!
On that note, I would first like to thank Lori for inviting me. Lori is a dynamic, healthy, charming woman and is always smiling (in her pictures that is). I learned about low-glycemic recipes, quinoa and gluten free with her – which is a completely unknown world for me – and the opposite of my cuisine, but I love I still love it, and I am also loving the learning process, and soon the fusion I will try and create between the two).
- What I am working on ? As a full time mother, and part time blogger, I am working on taking dishes from blogs that inspire me and that I follow, and fuse some of my cuisine into them (still need to work on this). I also definitely want to post different cuisine recipes. I also want to experiment posting some watercolors about the dishes that I post (this one may take some more time).
- How does my work differ from others of its genre? All the recipes that I made are usually from North Africa (Algeria) or very often from Southern France. I really want to spread North African culture and cuisine. Through my recipes and my blog posts you will also discover anecdotes from (typically) my childhood, and recently a few pictures.
- Why do I write what I do ? As I have a very strong passion for cooking and eating since a very young age, my work is to try and pass and share my family recipes (and secrets) form my childhood until now. I started cooking with my grand-mother, my mother and my aunts. The kitchen has also been the central room of the household. What I post is always reference to what we eat and cook at home (for generations now).
- How does your writing process work? I have the chance to cook every day, and out of those dishes I post two times a week (usually once on Tuesday and once on Friday – for Fiesta Friday). I try alternating between sweet or salty recipes, but I think the decision ultimately belongs to my mood, the flavours of the season (or more like my family’s choice!). I really enjoy taking pictures the most too (all of which are my own work), which usually involves me running with very hot dishes around the house; trying to find the best lighting corners and my feelings. I then add the ingredients and detailed recipe steps, and lastly I try and remember a memory or anecdote of this recipe or dish.

Ahila from A Taste of Sri Lankan Cuisine: Ahila is a wonderful, hardworking, active Lady. She is one of the first who followed me when I started blogging and even tried some of my recipes. I discovered Sri Lankan cuisine with her blog (I’m mad about food from this part of the continent) and she also shares her mother’s recipes or videos. She also has 2 other blogs: Tales from Sri Lanka and Perspectives Quilt. I don’t know how you mange this but you do it amazingly Ahila.
Maulshri from Joie de vivre: Maulshri is a new blogger, she is like the name of her blog, a joyful and charming lady . She has different varieties of recipes but what I like the most are “her desserts” she make. Those are tempting and appetizing desserts, and sometimes I think she should open a “tea salon” with all her sweets!
The Bohemian Chronicles: A young and very enthusiastic young man based in Dubai. He mostly rambles about the latest fashion news and trends, his favourite new local cafes, street style pictures he takes, his latest travel adventures and everything in between. Some very nice photography shots!
